So I reblogged this exactly a week ago because I thought it was funny and uh lo and behold, a family friend wrote me a big ol’ check just to help me out of a tough financial spot AND my bank refunded me $32 for fees they’d originally taken out. SO UH YEAH. Reblogging this again in hopes that it brings equally good fortune to my followers.
Being kind to others doesn’t mean forgoing the love and respect you yourself deserve. You don’t owe kindness to anyone who repeatedly takes you for granted and treats you with disrespect. Be kind, but not so kind that you allow people to use you.
Not to sound like a vegan who is also a fiber oriented crafts person but due to the fact that large scale wool production is a shitshow and shouldn’t be supported, support local farmers and local fiber millers who have low amounts of alpacas and sheep. I’ve met many who treat their animals like their children and don’t feed into that large scale production bullshit about castrating them and cutting their tails off and basically using them and throwing them away after they’re done with them. These farmers love their animals so much and wool is just a by product of these alpacas and sheep that need to be sheared anyway to get out of their eyes and take weight off of their bodies. We need to remember that small scale local farmers are struggling and food industries and fast fashion are two things we can cut out, putting farmers in their places instead- don’t think we shouldn’t buy wool or buy an artisan wool product (who bought the wool from a farmer run fiber mill) just because of the fact that it’s wool and wool is inherently evil, we have to think about sources.

butch/femme dating is one thing (a good thing) but I feel like we don’t talk enough about the specific and deeply funny and affectionate nature of friendships between butches and femmes and specifically i love the bonding over not understanding various things that the other is into but not in the mean-spirited way straight people seem to love doing
